Located on Piccadilly Avenue, in one of the most emblematic points of the British capital, Apsley House was the London residence of Arthur Wellesley, first Duke of Wellington. This military man went down in history in 1815 for defeating Napoleon Bonaparte in the famous battle of Waterloo.
With your ticket to Apsley House, you can visit this sumptuous home located between Hyde Park and the gardens of Buckingham Palace. The mansion, which was renovated in 2015 to commemorate the Bicentenary of the Battle of Waterloo, is home to outstanding early 19th-century furnishings.
The Apsley House pictorial collection is also one of the great attractions of the mansion. This artistic exhibition consists of paintings as outstanding as The Entry of the Animals into Noah's Ark by Jan Brueghel the Elder, A Musician (Conjurer) by Cecco del Caravaggio, and Saint Rosalia Crowned by Angels by Anthony van Dyck.
Apsley House also treasures an important collection of Spanish paintings. Among the most important works are The Waterseller of Seville by Diego Velázquez, Saint James the Greater by José Ribera, and the Equestrian Portrait of the 1st Duke of Wellington by Francisco de Goya.
