Experience what life was like on the HMS Belfast, an impressive warship from World War II, moored currently on the River Thames, and one of London’s iconic symbols.
What to expect?
The HMS is the Royal Navy’s flagship. Now converted into a museum ship, the HMS Belfast is the only cruiser to witness the most decisive historic events in the twentieth century. It’s first mission and one of the most important took place in 1939 when it sailed to block Germany during the Second World War.
Each detail of the HMS Belfast relates a crucial part of history and exploring its nine decks will take you back in time, as you'll feel part of the crew who lived on board. Discover the dentistry, infirmary, laundry room or the bakery, which will most likely give you a different vision of the war.
Gun Turret Experience
The Gun Turret Experience is an AV museum installation and one of the highlights of the museum ship. Special effects, sound, smoke and movements create the perfect atmosphere to give visitors the impression that they are fighting at sea.
Located in one of the boat’s gun turrets, the installation has been created by veterans of the British Royal Marine and inspired by the Battle of the North Cape. This part of the museum will most certainly not leave you indifferent.
