London Night Tour
London Night Tour
We'll meet at 6:30 pm by the sundial outside Tower Hill station, and we'll start our tour looking over the Tower of London. Did you know that this is thought to be the most haunted building in the city? Regardless of whether or not you believe in ghosts, as you learn about those that were imprisoned and executed here, you're sure to come away with a different impression of crime and punishment in the British capital than the one you have today.
We'll also discover what life was like in the East End in the Middle Ages, when tyrants ruled over the city and poverty and overcrowding were rife.
No tour of London's dark history would be complete without mentioning Jack the Ripper, the unidentified serial killer who terrorised the city in the 1880s. We'll go past Prostitutes' Church, where he is thought to have picked up some of his victims. We'll end the tour at Ten Bells pub at 9 pm, next to Spitalfields Market, which is where his final victim was last seen alive.
