What to expect

Buckingham Palace only opens to the public on specific occasions and this summer is one of them. With your fast track ticket, you can explore the elegant hallways and rooms inside London's most famous building, and the beautiful gardens that surround it.

When making the reservation, there are two options to choose from - the State Rooms and Gardens ticket or the State Rooms and Royal Mews ticket.

No matter what type of ticket you choose, you will enjoy a self-guided tour accompanied by English language audio commentary on the fascinating history and facts about one of the most famous palaces in the world.

Ticket for the State Rooms and Gardens

This ticket will give you access to the official residence of Queen Elizabeth II. The monarch spends her summer holidays in Scotland, which is when Buckingham Palace opens its doors to the general public. You can explore its elegant rooms and halls and admire the English and French style period furniture and decoration.

This ticket gives you access to the State Rooms. These 19 elegant halls are used by both the Queen and her family for official receptions and formal events. Together they form an art gallery in their own right, with masterpieces by Van DyckRembrandt, Rubens, and Canaletto, to name just a few.

The ticket also includes an audio-guided tour of the gardens of Buckingham Palace. This beautiful green space is home to more than 30 different species of birds and more than 350 different types of wildflower. This route concludes with a delightful stroll around the southern area of the gardens, where you will enjoy views of the famous royal lake which faces the western side of the palace.


If you purchase the ticket for the State Rooms and Gardens, you can visit Buckingham Palace at one of the following times:

27th July to 31st August:

  • Monday to Friday: 10:45 am, 2:45 pm, 4:15 pm, 4:45 pm.
  • Sundays: 3:30 pm, 4:15 pm, 4:45 pm, 5:15 pm.
  • There are no visits on Saturdays.

1st September to 30th September:

  • Monday to Friday: 10:45 am, 2:45 pm, 3:15 pm, 4:15 pm.
  • Sundays: 2:45 am, 3:15 pm, 4:15 pm.
  • There are no visits on Saturdays.

Ticket for the State Rooms and Royal Mews

With this ticket, besides exploring the 19 State Rooms and admiring their world-famous artworks, you will also access the Royal Mews. This courtyard of stables and coach houses has historically been the home to royal carriages and their horses, and accommodation for coachmen and stable staff employed by the monarchy. You will witness how the workers groom and saddle up the horses in preparation for royal parades and ceremonies.


When you buy the ticket for the State Rooms and Royal Mews, you have a selection of specific times in which you can visit the palace:

27th July to 25th September:

  • Monday to Friday: 10:15 am, 12:15 am, 2:15 pm. These three times are for the visit to the Royal Mews. The visit to the State Rooms of Buckingham Palace will take place one hour after, so 11:15 am, 1:15 pm and 3:15 pm.
  • There are no visits on Saturdays or Sundays.
